How do I market a Illusion Soak-Off Gel service to my client?

Illusion Soak-Off Gels are more durable than polish (chip-proof for two weeks or longer); however there is no commitment on behalf of the client because removal is a snap. Gels can be soaked off in 20 minutes with no timely filing or messy dust. It's a win-win for you and your client.

When applying Illusion Soak-Off Gels, what do I do it I feel I need to build the apex of the nail?

If a higher apex is desired, use Illusion Base Gel to build on top of the enhancement. Remove the tacky layer, then file & shape with gentle buffing prior to finishing.

Can Illusion Shine Gel be soaked off?

Illusion Shine Gel is a traditional, permanent gel. To remove Illusion Shine Gel, roughen the surface with an Endurance 180/180 Grit File or a Lavender Block Buffer to break the seal. This step is not necessary when using Illusion Top Coat Gel.

Gel Polish Instructions:

Step 1. Proper natural nail preparation should be performed prior to any enhancement services. Spray your hands and client's hands with Sani-Pure and gently massage. Apply a very small amount of Vanish Cuticle Dissolve to remove the cuticle. Remove the shine from the natural nail by lightly buffing the surface with any NSI Endurance 180 Grit File. Apply Nailpure Plus to the natural nail and let it dry to a chalky white finish. Brush Illusion (Acid-Free) Primer on natural nail surface and let it dry for one minute.

Step 2. Apply Illusion Base Gel (available in Clear or Sheer Pink) in polish-style strokes from cuticle to free edge. Be sure to cap the free edge of the nail. Do each finger, freezing in the UV lamp for 10 seconds before going into the UV lamp for one minute (2 minutes if you use a single-bulb lamp).

Step 3. Without removing the tacky dispersion layer, apply the Illusion Color Gel of your choice (Abracadabra was used here). Again, using polish-like strokes, apply from the cuticle to the free edge, capping the end of the nail. Freeze-cure each finger and cure for two minutes (3 minutes if using a single-bulb lamp). One coat may suffice; however if you choose to apply another coat of color gel apply it in the same manner without removing the tacky layer and cure again.

Step 4. To finish the nail and give it a high-gloss shine, use the Illusion Shine Gel. This gel is very thin can be applied just like polish. Without removing the tacky layer, coat the entire nail, capping the edge. Freeze-cure each finger and cure for 1 minute (2 minutes if using a single bulb lamp).

Step 5. Remove the tacky dispersion layer with a Nail Wipe lightly saturated with Cleanse.

Removal Step 1. To prepare for the removal of Illusion Soak-Off Gels, heat a medium-sized bowl filled with sand or water in the microwave until it is very warm. Place a smaller bowl inside the sand or water that is filled with Illusion Soak-Off Gel Remover. Lightly buff the nails to remove the shine. Place the client's hands in the bowl and soak for approximately 20 minutes. The thickness of the gel will determine how long it needs to soak.

Removal Step 2. After the nails have soaked, you can gently scrap away the gel using a curette or similar implement. The gels remove easily leaving little no residue behind.

Removal Step 3. Because soaking hands in any kind of liquid can be drying to the skin, nourish it skin surrounding the nails with a drop of Nurture Oil on each finger. Finish with a gentle hand massage with Nurture Lotion.
